‘Best Immersive Audio Album’ and other selections

Co-sponsored by the Sound Lab and the Studio for Electro Acoustic Composition (HUSEAC)

Guest presenters Seth Torres and John Pax

What is a ‘Dolby Atmos’ mix? Can we hear a difference? Join us in the University’s Studio for Electro-Acoustic Composition (HUSEAC) as we listen-to and discuss a selection of tracks nominated for the ‘Best Immersive Audio Album’ category in the 2023 GRAMMY awards

We will listen to these nominees through Apple Music, lossless decoded to7.1.4 via Dolby Atmos, projected through HUSEAC’s surround Genelec speaker system.

The audio technology and selected tracks will be briefly introduced by Seth Torres, a live recording and mix engineer and the Technical Director of HUSEAC, and John Pax, composer, audio engineer, and Senior Media Advisor in the Music Department.

Other selections will be made from the ‘Best Engineered Album’ and ‘Record of the Year’ categories, time permitting.
